Another POCET Creative Arts Example
POCET provides four basic activities for each of the 68 Developmental Guidelines which provide a scope and sequence of skills for Language, Literacy and Mathematics, plus five other domains of learning.
Here is an example for the Creative Arts domain:
Cheese Face Modeling
For each child, place 1 cup of grated cheese in a bowl. Add 3/4 cup of flour and 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise. With clean hands, mold the mixture together until it has a dough-like consistency. Place the cheese mound on a piece of waxed paper and allow the child (with clean hands) to create a funny face. Refrigerate the creation and eat at snack time.
